56.9% didn’t vote at the latest EU election. Every woman (or man) who did not vote, but could have, voted FOR UKIP’s policy on abolishing maternity pay and making rape in marriage legal. Any immigrant or descendent of immigrants (pretty much everyone in the UK) who didn’t vote, but could have, voted FOR UKIP’s policies of hatred, racism and bigotry. If you don’t vote, you can’t be heard, or you can be misquoted at the very least. Apathy can be considered acceptance in politics. We need to be the change we want to see in the world.
The same mindset seems to be happening here in Australia. Peopel are so ignorant and led astray . . . you can hide politics but politics cannot hide from you, they rule our lives regardless of whether twe want them to or not! that Russell Brand guy is trying to convince everyone with conspiracy theories that all politics are working against us . . . I am finding it hard to convince people to vote myself, there is always a lesser of two evils, adn it makes sch a big difference.
People fought and died for our right to vote. We owe it to them, at the very least, in my opinion, to exercise that right! x
